Structural BIM MODELER/Draftsman-with English

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8 years of experience in modeling and drafting
  • Intermediate level of written and spoken English skills, minimum B1 level
  • Working knowledge of Revit (excellent), Allplan, Navisworks Software, AutoCad, and MS Office Software.
  • Experienced in structural detailing: formwork and reinforcement design, bar bending schedule
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to interface with clients and project team. Written communication skills to prepare clear, concise, and professional reports and correspondence.
  • Responsible, organized, and dedicated team player
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to prioritize and multi-task, particularly when working to tight deadlines
  • No restriction with travel and fieldwork: International travel and fieldwork may be required at times in multi-week increments.

Other Qualifications (preferred but not mandatory)

  • Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering office.
  • Experience with constructability and skills to anticipate problems in implementation of design when applied to field conditions. Skills to recommend alternate approaches to eliminate such problems.
  • Experience to manage workload and prioritize between projects, adapt to shifting priorities and respond to emergencies in a calm and professional manner.
  • Knowledge of Tekla Structures..
  • Experience in utilizing and interrogating laser scan point clouds (LFM & recap format)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare 3D Model, reinforced concrete drawings
  • Perform reviews and provide comments on drawings & 3D models of vendor documents
  • Interface with project stakeholders including other disciplines, Clients, Vendors and Subcontractors on technical project issues
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Prepare MTOs
  • Review shop drawing submittals to assure design intent is met
  • Produce detailed 3D models from the laser scan point clouds
  • Identify potential changes and communicate to the Lead Structural Engineer
  • Monitor the projects’ structural design progress, schedule and track spent manhours against budget
  • Provide input for progress and planning meetings
  • Mentor less experienced designers
  • Be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally, as long as the various projects require it
  • Conduct field measuring and checking at construction site to verify existing conditions
  • Create & maintain drawing registers
  • Maintain project files containing project drawings, appropriate reference material, and other items
  • Provide support for proposals
  • Assist in developing the current drawing office standards and 3D libraries & specifications
  • Maintain own competence and continuous development
  • Ensure learning opportunities are captured and realized
