Blue Projects completes Carlsberg brewery relocation

2019-11-19

Blue Projects has assisted Carlsberg in moving the Holsten brewery from Hamburg’s Altona borough to Hausbruch district, by providing construction management and vendor management services. The project began in January 2018 and it has been completed in July 2019.

“In recent years, it has become clear that the Altona site is no longer up-to-date for industrial beer production. With the innovative brewery in the south of Hamburg, Holsten can react much more flexibly to changing conditions and profit from the numerous advantages of the new site”, said Sebastian Holtz, CEO Carlsberg Germany, about the decision to relocate the brewery, founded in 1879 and acquired by the Carlsberg Group in 2004.

In its new location, the facility has an estimated footprint of 56,900 m2, with a building area of 24,500 m2 and a production capacity of 100 million liters per year, equivalent to about 1 million bottles every day.

We congratulate our teams for delivering this project at high standards, as evidenced by the client testimonial: Perfect management execution, ability to work on strategic axis, making sure that overall PM management processes are in place, supported by the tools leading to quick ground-level problem solving. Most impressive is the speed of problem solving which is inevitable in any project. (Mr. Łukasz Gładysz – Senior Manager Production).
