Civil Supervisor

Role Overview: The Civil Supervisor will oversee all activities related to the Civil, Structural, and Architectural scope. This includes groundworks, civil, piling, foundations, structural steel, buildings, building services, building finishes, cladding, roofing, grouting, site finishes, and roads. The ideal candidate will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards of quality.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Civil, Structural, and Architectural Works: Oversee groundworks, piling, foundations, structural steel, buildings, building services, building finishes, cladding, roofing, grouting, site finishes, and road construction.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure all works comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Quality Control: Monitor the quality of work performed, ensuring it meets project specifications and standards.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and procedures on site to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Schedule Management: Monitor project timelines and ensure that deadlines are met.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of project progress, inspections, and any changes to plans.
  • On-site presence is required in the Normandy region.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in supervising civil, structural, and architectural works within industrial or construction projects.
  • Education: Degree or equivalent further education qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of groundworks, piling, foundations, structural steel, buildings, building services, finishes, cladding, roofing, grouting, and road construction.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and manage teams effectively.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Safety: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Preferred Certifications & Trainings:

  • Advanced Training: Certifications in advanced construction techniques, safety management, and quality control.
  • Safety Certifications: Valid CCNSG Safety Passport or Construction Safety Competence Scheme (CSCS) card.
  • Additional Training: IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH Certificate, or equivalent.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluent in English & French (Written & Spoken)
