Blue Projects offices organize charitable actions during holiday season

2020-01-15

Every year in December Blue Projects teams around the world put forth their resources and effort to help the less fortunate. Either through financial donations or volunteering, our teams have been involved in various charitable actions.

Blue Projects Romania

In Romania, the Bucharest and Cluj offices partnered with the NGO Little People to purchase toys for children suffering from cancer. Blue Projects has supported the work of Little People – they are providing social support programs for kids and teenagers afflicted by this terrible disease – by participating in the annual Bandana Days fundraiser and the Bucharest Marathon.

Another action that took place in Bucharest and Cluj is a fundraiser for the NGO O Masa Calda (“a warm meal” in Romanian), an initiative started in 2013 by a group of students who wanted to provide meals to the poor and homeless. Today the NGO makes about 1900 meals a week in 7 cities and has developed the ShareFood app to help decrease food waste by creating a network of donors and beneficiaries.

In Bucharest our team also got involved in a charity campaign organized by Pro Voluntariat Association, that helped dozens of children in need to receive Christmas presents. We are glad that we were able to put a smile on their faces, especially during the holiday season, when everyone needs a miracle.

Blue Projects Poland

The children who unfortunately had to spend their holidays in the oncology ward at a Warsaw hospital were visited by our colleagues, who raised money to purchase medical equipment and gifts. The donation brought a much needed ray of hope to the little patients and their parents.

Blue Projects Russia

The teams in Russia undertook a series of charitable actions during the holiday season: sponsoring the Novomoskovsk Sports Running School by purchasing medals and prizes for 2 competitions in December, buying a cooler and microwave for the Children’s City Hospital (to be used by parents who are in hospital with their children), collecting clothes to be donated to large low-income families. Secret Santa stopped by the office to repay our colleagues generosity.

Blue Projects Belgium

In Belgium, we supported De Lage Drempel ( “the low threshold” in Dutch), an association from Mechelen who organizes meetings and all kinds of activities for people in poverty, looking for solutions to specific problems. Our team got together during the holidays to paint and clean the association’s garden.

Blue Projects North America

Blue Projects team in Canada volunteered their time to help assemble the holiday hampers that are distributed to families struggling financially in the Chilliwack community. Each year, Chilliwack Community Services partners with the Salvation Army for the Christmas Sharing campaign, delivering gifts and organizing gala events and toy drives.
