2023-03-31

Blue Projects Germany recently welcomed Jeffrey Ngai as senior architect in our Hamburg office.

Jeffrey is a good example of the international culture that characterizes Blue Projects.

He is born in the UK, raised in the Netherlands where he finished his Master´s in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences at the Technical University of Delft.

Then went back to the UK for a Master’s in International construction management (Cum Laude) in Leeds.

Started working for several international architectural firms in Shanghai and Hongkong in the first 8 years of his career.

And came to Hamburg in 2014 working for ECE Group Services as a Senior Architect in the last 8 years.

‘ I was looking for an international company with a large diversity of projects. Blue Projects seemed to be the right fit for me. Already during the hiring process, I had a good impression of the working method and culture of the company.  I am used to work in a multicultural work environment when I was working in Asia, and believe a similar vibe and energy is present at Blue Projects as a global company. I am continuously meeting new colleagues based in different countries. This makes the work a lot of fun, as I learn about different cultures, ways of communicating and being part of a global team.’

In order to ensure a smooth and pleasant Onboarding experience, Blue Projects offers all new hires an Onboarding Journey.

‘I consider BP´s Onboarding as a very pleasant and informative experience. The essential information and processes, regarding the company are communicated efficiently, through video presentations and online presentations on LinkedIn e-Learning. Furthermore, there are regular check-ins with the peer-buddy, senior leaders, and Onboarding manager. Overall, I felt very welcoming by the local colleagues and colleagues based in other countries. This is a great start and shows how international and highly professional Blue Projects is as an employer to work for.’

The first project Jeffrey works on is for a food manufacturer in Frankenthal, Germany, part of Intersnack Group, one of the leading manufacturers and distributers of savoury snacks, such as potato snacks, nuts, baked products and specialty snacks.

Within Project Sahara a new pellet frying production line with automated packaging and palletizing will be installed to be able to produce the projected volumes for the upcoming years.

In the different project phases Jeffrey is leading the design process, from concept design and detailed design, for refurbishment works of the new frying line, 3 new seasoning lines and packaging area. Furthermore, his team is working on a new extension of the production building until tender documentation.

In Germany since 2015, with the opening at the Hamburg office in 2018, Blue Projects is a “one-stop” engineering and project management services provider throughout the whole project life cycle, from the conceptual phase through to commissioning and start-up (HOAI 2-8). Under one roof, we provide building and process design, project and commercial management, construction & HSE management including all the functional disciplines from architectural, civils, process, packing, utilities and automation.

In the short-term Blue Projects will open a second office in Düsseldorf.
