Blue Projects is pleased to announce the successful completion of a challenging project, carried out in only 8 months.

In November 2017,  Blue Projects was assigned to support one of its blue-chip Clients in extending its Western European manufacturing facilities, by offering turn-key relocation services.

For this purpose, Blue Projects performed all the activities regarding the Production Lines Relocation: Line equipment movement process, New Layout development and New Equipment installation and integration into lines process flow, along with also Project & Construction Management.

As part of the delivered scope, our team provided installation qualification, start-up and engineering support for this complex project, which included site audits followed by pre-design activities, detailed design with new layout adaptations and software programming adaptations for mechanical, electrical and PLC line equipment.

Challenge

Schedule constraints for equipment deinstallation process made us optimise our execution team structures in order to deliver on time and best results – Unloading of large equipment and pallets through logistic docks due to trucks access restraints in the new packing hall, pallets transportation through production without interfacing or causing down time for lines already in production – Extension of existing line controllers to accommodate integration of new equipment, finding compatible solutions for IO boards which are no longer produced on the market – Control integration of new equipment into the process flow – interfacing challenge between line existing PLC controllers and new equipment PLC controllers with newer technology and network communication interfaces
